Hello! Great site, and kudos to your beautiful pictures! As I was reading I noticed you describing a photo -on top of the burial mound looking down the stairs.- I do believe what your standing on is the temple mound. I figured it might creep some people out to think they were/are standing on a giant mound of deceased native indians.

sorry for the late reply but your post just “vanished” in the amount of spam these blogs get. Yes, we were standing on Temple Mound.
I’m not sure, but I think it has been used primarily for ceremonial purposes. On the other hand, I trust that the ones being buried here, would not mind us using these places for recreation and education, as long as we do this with some kind of respect.
Something that I surely have for these sites.
